UCSB Women's Club Rowing PR Kit

Fact Sheet, Press Release, Newsletter, Social Media Campaign Proposal

Throughout my Writing for PR course, I positioned myself as the PR Director for UCSB Women's Rowing to demonstrate my storytelling, graphic design, and brand strategy skills.

As part of this project, I created a:

  • Fact sheet
  • Press release
  • Newsletter
  • Social media campaign proposal
  • This fact sheet provides journalists with the most essential and relevant information regarding UCSB Women’s Rowing. Brevity and concision were key to condensing a rich, long-standing legacy onto a single page.

Tailored to sports journalists at local Santa Barbara news publications, the purpose of this press release is to announce a long-awaited new hire. The overall tone is informative but enthusiastic, and personnel quotes introduce new information and present the new coach’s qualifications. (Disclaimer: the information in this press release is fictional).

Created using Canva, this edition of “The Tenth Seat” is an overhauled version of the preexisting UCSB Rowing internal newsletter that is distributed among rowing alumni and families of current rowers. Consistent with the theme of “Racing Season Roundup,” this issue contains various championship recaps, a profile of an experienced team member, upcoming events, and more unique content that demonstrates the team’s success this season. With little prior knowledge of rowing, I relied on my research, interviewing, and storytelling skills to accurately portray information from the perspective of an organization member.

This social media campaign aims to attract incoming UCSB students who are looking to join a club sports team in college. The proposal identifies the optimal channel, provides clear guidelines for content innovation, and sets measurable goals for the campaign’s success.
